I just watched it again to see what you are talking about and in all honesty I don't think that was the sound of the bike I think it was the sound effects in the music. it is just perfectly times that it would sound like that but if you watch carefully that sound continues on to the next scene which makes me think it's not the bike to begin with.

there was definitely a harley motor revving, JUST after she hit the ground. kinda like she hit the ground and then started the motor using the clutch and back wheel, not the starter.

Maybe they're going to build these bikes with that "fake engine noise from the stereo" crap that so many car makers are using now, *cough BMW cough*.
That being said, I would ride this bike. I've always liked Harley's.

As for the speaker thing, that was one of the many jokes that were said when it came out. Where are the speaker with the 2 basicly sound tracks, and then you could buy the "screamin eagle" set up for another 500$?
Ive never been a harley fan, for due tot he company and their attiude and the customers. But I would only buy an electric bike from harley. simply because they have the # f dealers to service it. And I would buy it as a commuter. I get to turn the SV into a track bike and get something else for the weekend.

By "merc" I'm going to assume you mean mercury because Mercedes sure as hell doesn't do fake engine noise. They have an external sound generator for electrics, but that's a legal issue so people will hear the cars coming, and they sound more like the Jetsons than an engine.
I'm not really a fan of Harley as a company, but I grew up around the bikes in that sort of culture. There's a huge sense of community and freedom that comes along with them. It's like saying that I would rather drive a 80's diesel Oldsmobile than a civic si (which is true).

for some reason I thought mercedez did it as well. my bad.
I will admit the culture part of harley is insane. Bike culture in general is crazy, but harley takes it to the next level. This is sometimes good and bad...

From personal experience I would say more often good than bad, it's just that there has always been such a negative stigma when it comes to "bikers". Honestly I would feel safer in a bar full of drunk bikers than a bar full of drunk frat boys. But every demographic has negative element.

Oh lol, I know what you mean. That's just dumb. We're all on two wheels and enjoying the ride, who cares who made the bike. De-badge a Honda shadow and most people would never know it's not a Harley.

I find that the funniest. I was riding a buddies maurader 800. dude on a 883 rode up next to my and said: nice harley, what year?
me: its a suzuki 800.
guy was floored
